Jessica Simpson has finally set a date for her wedding to Eric Johnson, a year and a half after the couple got engaged.
The American singer and actress will be marrying football star, Johnson on 12/12/12 on the island of Kauai in Hawaii – a popular destination for weddings abroad.
Simpson and Johnson were originally supposed to be getting married on 11/11/11 but Jessica fell pregnant. The couple now have a healthy bay girl, Maxwell, and they are busy planning their nuptials in Hawaii.
According to media reports, the couple will be joining in the trend of destination weddings by tying the knot with a lavish ceremony on the island followed by week-long celebrations with 60 family members and friends who will be flown over especially for the occasion.
Simpson has hired celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss who helped organise the singers Charlotte’s Web-themed baby shower, as well as her 2002 wedding to Nick Lachey.
The 31-year-old actress was previously married to singer and 98 Degrees band group member, Nick Lachey, but the couple divorced in 2006. Lachey married MTV presenter Vanessa Minnillo on Richard Bransons private Necker Island in the Caribbean in July last year.
The cost of the forthcoming tropical wedding in Hawaii is reportedly reaching $1million which Simpson is said to be paying for herself.
The couple had been dating for six months before he popped the question in November last year.
